Registration is quick and easy, the only thing that sometimes delays the process is the CRB check. Depending on how many different addresses you have had during the last 5 years, it can in some cases take several months for the CRB check to clear.
A step-by-step guide to registration:
1. First you need to ensure that you meet the criteria for registration. Ensure that your first aid certficate is up-to-date and that public liability insurance is in place before starting registration procedures.
2. The registration process is done entirely online. To register simply go to the Ofsted website.
3. The CRB check is done as part of the Post Office Verify system. You will need to bring proof of your ID along with the £8 admin fee when you go to have your application verified. Please note that even if you already have a CRB check another one will need to be completed as part of the registration process.
4. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Ofsted helpline on
08456 404040 .
